Inter is having one hell of a season as far as Serie A is concerned. Antonio Conte and his men have won the league for the first time in over ten years – and that means another shot at Champions League glory.

Yes, we’ve seen Inter dominate the domestic league this season, leaving rivals like Juventus and AC Milan in the dust.

While a victory at the end of the season will solidify Inter’s domestic dominance, the question that is (or will soon be) on every Inter’s supporter’s lips is – Will that dominance be extended to the whole of Europe?

And that’s a valid question; because the team is currently primed to take their game to the next level.

Seems like three of crucial elements in football are going right for Inter now:

Right timing. Brilliant coaching. Motivated players.

When you think of things that way, there’s absolutely no doubt that Inter should gun for Champions League title come next season. Let’s run through a quick in-depth analysis of these three important things.

Right Timing

The last time Inter Milan won the Champions League was in 2010 in a thrilling last match against a strong Bayern Munich Side. Diego Milito’s brace and the performance of the entire team will forever be etched in the memory of most Champions League supporters.

Interestingly, 2010 was also the last time Inter won the domestic league, Serie A. That year, Inter went for a treble and they got it – becoming the first team in Italy to do so.

Not just that, Inter’s victory in the 1964/65 Serie A season was promptly followed by a victory in the Champions League.

If you think about it, two of Inter’s three Champions League trophies have come after winning the domestic league. This may be wishful thinking, but there’s a good chance history might repeat itself because the time feels right. Besides, when did a little wishful thought ever hurt anyone?

Brilliant Coaching

Inter Milan’s development over the past two years has been astounding, thanks to the man at the helm of Inter’s coaching affairs – Antonio Conte. In his short time as manager, Inter has reached great heights as runners-up of Serie A and Europa Cup finalists.

Conte’s remarkable coaching has helped Inter bring the best out of many of its players, including the likes of Hakimi, Perisic, and Ashley Young. Perhaps the most significant being Romelu Lukaku.

There’s no guarantee of anything, but if things stay this way, we can expect great things from Inter Milan at the Champions League next season.

Motivated Players

Given how things ended in the last Champions League season, with Inter crashing out and a surprise bottom finish in the group, there should be no doubt of an unflinching motive within the players to regain their honor.

As a sign of the players’ increased motivation, the team went on a five-game winning streak in Serie A that no doubt turned the leadership structure of the table on its head.

Quite frankly, Inter has not had the most encouraging of Champions League campaigns since winning the Champions League trophy in 2010.

Losing out of the group stage in their last three campaigns is not just frustrating for the players but for the fans too – no one is thinking of staking Inter in any UEFA Champions League Betting now.

But if there’s any moment where this horrible Champions League run changes for the better – it is now. The players seem to be playing with a special kind of purpose.

So, all eyes on Inter for next year’s Champions League. Time to redefine history, or maybe reinvent it.
