What Steven Gerrard's net worth in 2025 is, as David Prutton urges West Bromwich Albion to consider appointing him.
David Prutton has urged West Bromwich Albion to appoint former Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard, after Tony Mowbray was sacked in April.
Following an excellent playing career at Liverpool, which spanned over 17 years, Gerrard first dipped his toe into management in 2018, when he became Rangers boss.
A successful few years at Ibrox saw him make the switch to Villa Park in 2021, costing the Villains a reported £4m to break his Rangers contract. Sadly, the results were mixed for the former England international, and he was dismissed in October 2022.
After a couple of years in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ettifaq, he's been a free agent since departing the club in January 2025. However, Prutton has recently tipped him for a return to management in the Midlands with West Brom.
After Prutton claimed that the Baggies should consider appointing their bitter rivals' former boss, Football League World looked at Gerrard's estimated net worth, and whether he would be eager to get back in the dugout quickly.
The Liverpool legend enjoyed an almost 20-year playing career, 17 of which were spent on Merseyside playing for his boyhood club.
Throughout this career, he won a Champions League, two FA Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, three EFL Cups, and was named Premier League Player of the Year, and UEFA Best Player in Europe in the mid-2000s. These are just a select few of the 44-year-old's accolades from his playing career.
When you add up all the years of professional football, and years in management, as well as other commitments that come with the job of being a footballer, Gerrard reportedly has a net worth of £74.5m, making him the sixth-richest football manager in the world in 2025, according to GiveMeSport.
This will be a factor of his lengthy playing career and success on the pitch, coupled with his managerial career so far. One big contribution to his net worth is his stint at Al-Ettifaq, where he pocketed a reported £15m per year.
Sometimes, managers can rush into their next job as soon as one comes calling. This can be down to a lack of opportunities elsewhere or for financial reasons, as being out of work is always a scary and uncertain time for managers.
However, with Gerrard reportedly being the sixth-richest manager in world football after his incredible playing career and blockbuster contract at Al-Ettifaq, he can afford to wait for the right job to come around, rather than jumping at the first opportunity.
The 44-year-old's managerial career looked to be very promising when he joined Aston Villa from Rangers back in 2021, but his time at Villa Park was brought to an abrupt end, and the ex-Liverpool star has become somewhat of a forgotten man.
Gerrard will want to get his managerial career back on track, and you get the feeling he can afford to be patient with his next job thanks to his reported net worth of £74.5m. This means the former Liverpool man can ensure he picks the right project, rather than jumping at the first opportunity, and he may feel like the West Brom job isn't the right move for him.
