Well, according to a new report from Sam Lee of The Athletic, uncertainty continues to hang over Manchester City’s summer transfer window and the prospect of any further business taking place in the coming days and weeks ahead.

It is stated that aside from the ongoing pursuit and negotiations for Josko Gvardiol, Etihad Stadium bosses only expect to return to the transfer market if Bernardo Silva were to finally secure a move away from the club.

Following Manchester City’s failure to sign Declan Rice ahead of Arsenal, despite launching a £90 million package bid for the England international, Bernardo Silva is currently seen as the ‘perfect alternative’ in midfield as the club focus on life without Ilkay Gundogan.

For now, City’s focus will remain on talks with the aforementioned Bundesliga side, as well as preparations for the new campaign, which get underway from Monday of next week when players will begin filtering back through the doors of the City Football Academy.

Manchester City will remain in the north-west for a couple of days to get back into the swing of Pep Guardiola’s regimes, before jetting out to Far East Asia for the start of their pre-season tour which involves three friendly fixtures.
