A number of Leicester's players have been linked with moves away from the King Power Stadium this summer.

Marti Cifuentes has said that he isn't worried about any of his players taking their eyes off of Leicester City amid links with moves away from the club.

Cifuentes has a number of exciting players at his disposal but, as the Foxes found out last time they came down to the Championship, this leaves them vulnerable to losing those players.

Leicester have already made around £30 million from the sales of Mads Hermansen, Wilfred Ndidi and Conor Coady this summer, but more could, and may have to, be on the way.

Abdul Fatawu, Bilal El Khannouss, Harry Winks and James Justin are among the players being most heavily linked with leaving City in the remaining days of the transfer window.

As things stand, Leicester have only made one signing this summer, bringing in free agent goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. They may need some of these players to be bought before Cifuentes can add to his squad.

Marti Cifuentes addresses Leicester City transfer concerns

Saturday's 2-1 loss to Preston North End may have suggested that some of these players could be looking ahead to the next chapter of their careers, rather than what's in front of them with Leicester. But the Spanish boss isn't worried about this.

He claimed, following his first league defeat as the club's manager, that nobody has shown signs of taking their eye off the ball. "It’s the reality of all of the clubs in the country," said Cifuentes, via the Leicester Mercury. "The players, their mindset is very clear. Everybody wants to play well. When you are a professional, everybody wears this pride.

"We’re trying to build something. Everybody is aware we’re in a transition moment. Hopefully this transition will finish as soon as possible, then we can focus on what is important.

"But at the moment, those are the rules, the market is not closed and it’s a reality for all of us. I have no complaints about the professionalism of everyone, nor their commitment in training and games. We just need to deal with it."

Leicester are stuck between a transfer rock and a hard place

Cifuentes finds himself in a bit of a catch 22. Sanction the exits of some of his best players with just two weeks left in the window and it could leave the Foxes in a weakened position. Equally, if they don't sell some of their assets, they may struggle to bring new ones in that should better suit what he is trying to achieve on the pitch.

Leicester will have to be very calculated with their moves over the next fortnight. They need to decide which players are expendable, which spots in the team would they be able to cover immediately, and who they may struggle to replace even with the money that the club would earn from any sales.
