Milan Skriniar has been relegated to a backup role with Paris Saint-Germain as manager Luis Enrique has gone with Willian Pacho and Marquinhos in the starting center-back roles.

During the summer transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Skriniar attracted interest from several clubs, but the Slovakian ultimately chose to remain with the French side.

As the January transfer window approached, Skriniar likely eyes an exit, with a return to Serie A possible and a league he knows after his Inter Milan success.

According to Calcio Mercato’s Daniele Longo (h/t Foot01), Milan Skriniar has informed his agent that he prefers a return to Italy, potentially leading to a loan move to Juventus Turin.

“Skriniar keeps calling his agent to tell him that he wants to return to Italy and that Juventus Turin would be the ideal destination in his eyes,” revealed the Italian journalist before continuing.

“He could be available under very favorable loan conditions. For Skriniar, PSG is currently a golden prison with a high salary. Favorable conditions will be needed for salary coverage.”

The Italian press suggests Juventus does not wish to cover more than 40 percent of Milan Skriniar’s salary. This would mean that PSG would need to pay up to €3 million during the 29-year-old defender’s five-month loan to the Turin-based club, who would contribute no more than €2 million.

A win-win operation, even though PSG would have certainly preferred a permanent transfer or, at worst, a loan with full salary coverage
