Liverpool forward Harvey Elliott is attracting interest once again this summer with the youngster impressing out on loan last season in the Sky Bet Championship for Blackburn Rovers.

The young attacker seems destined for the very top and the Reds are certainly eager to get him there, it just remains to be seen what path they send him down to help him to achieve that.

Clearly, the loan at Blackburn last season was a productive one as he shone for Tony Mowbray’s side and, now, as per The Athletic, Sheffield United are eager to offer him another opportunity to play in the second tier on a regular basis and obviously be part of what they hope will be a promotion challenging campaign.

It’s the Reds, though, who hold the key in this particular situation and, as things stand, it sounds as though the Blades are going to be left disappointed in their bid to get the winger.

Ultimately, the Reds have been quiet this summer transfer window and it, as per The Athletic, looks as though they may look to the likes of Elliott, who impressed them greatly last year at Ewood Park, to help supplement matchday squads this coming campaign.

Indeed, they must feel as though he is ready to be involved and if a player is good enough, it does not matter how old they are – the Reds have shown that sort of willingness time and time again over the years.

Elliott would be a hit for Sheffield United, but it seems unlikely they’re going to get to find that out right now.
