It looks set to be an intriguing few days for Queens Park Rangers and striker Lyndon Dykes.

That’s the case due to transfer interest in the forward, with some clubs even having been as far as having bids rejected.

Indeed, as per the Mail Online, Millwall saw a £3 million offer for the Scottish international rejected late last week.

Their report also revealed that both league leaders Burnley and Stoke City were also interested in Dykes this month.

To see where this may go, though, we thought we’d look at the news to break after those initial reports, and the latest on Dykes’ future below.

What is the latest?

Interestingly, when the initial news broke, West London Sport report that QPR, despite Dykes having played an important role so far this season, are indeed open to selling the striker this window.

However, Millwall’s £3 million bid is said to fall well short of the valuation that the R’s have placed upon their forward.

Over the weekend since this initial news broke, there has been silence from all sides, perhaps with the respective clubs focusing on their weekend action.

Who was in charge of QPR when they secured a 3-2 victory over Liverpool in 2012?

Mark Hughes Neil Warnock Steve McClaren

In what could be considered the latest news on the topic, Millwall boss Gary Rowett has confirmed that the club are looking at bringing in attacking options ahead of the transfer deadline.

“In terms of energy, in terms of effort, in terms of aggression, in terms of spirit, desire, there’s not going to be another team in the division that can do the things we would do,” Rowett told South London Press.

“Where we need to improve is on the ball and make games easier for ourselves.

“Today we only really had young Romain Esse and I left Vogi on the bench to give us something late on – because we had two attacking options.

“When you look at some of the other teams in and around us, they’ve got four, five or six attacking options. That’s going to be the difference.

“I think it’s really, really important that we help some of those players out up there.”

Given that Dykes has just 18 months remaining on his QPR contract, it would be very surprising if Millwall, or the other interested clubs, did not make further bids towards the end of the window.

Indeed, particularly considering that it does seem that QPR are open to cashing in on the 27-year-old,as per the above report, if they do receive the right offer.
