The 24-year-old scored two goals and contributed seven assists in 46 Championship appearances last season and was a standout performer for the Swans throughout.

He moved to Swansea from Portuguese outfit Estrela da Amadora in January 2024 for a seven-figure fee and has a contract running until 2027.

Despite enjoying a solid season at the Swansea.com Stadium, Ronald could be set to depart the club in the upcoming transfer window.

According to Brazilian news outlet UOL Esporte, Corinthians are interested in taking the forward on loan this summer.

Timão have been gathering information regarding the deal for two months and the player is believed to be interested in a move back to his home country.

Swansea have stated their intention to keep the forward and wouldn’t currently negotiate a loan deal, but Corinthians will be persistent in their pursuit and are prepared to take advantage of any potential opportunities that may arise.

Teams from Saudi Arabia are also keeping an eye on the situation and are willing to commission a transfer for Ronald’s signature this summer.

The temptation of returning to Brazil may play into Corinthians’ hands throughout this saga, but Swansea currently aren’t looking to sell.

Swansea could benefit from Ronald sale

Ronald enjoyed a brilliant 2024/25 campaign for the Swans and would certainly be a big miss for Alan Sheehan’s side next term.

However, the Welsh outfit could turn this situation into a positive one.

If interest from Brazil and Saudi Arabia continues to gain momentum, Swansea may become resigned to selling the player.

But, if they can fashion a bidding war for Ronald’s services, the Swans could make a huge profit on the attacker which would allow them to reinvest into their squad and boost the overall quality of Sheehan’s side.

A loan move would be much less ideal, mind you, and Swansea would surely be firmly against losing a talented first-team regular like Ronald without being able to collect a tidy fee in the process.

Although Ronald has impressed for Swansea, his output isn’t remarkable and could be worth trading for a handsome fee.

The Swans ended last term in fine form, winning five of their last seven matches to finish 11th in the table and just seven points outside of the play-offs, after struggling earlier on in the season.

If Sheehan could use the money from a potential Ronald sale to improve multiple areas of the squad and ultimately boost their chances of fighting for the top six next term.

Time will tell whether Ronald does end his Swansea stint this summer, but the Welsh giants could be set to gain from either outcome.
