The details of the release clause inserted into the new contract signed by Athletic Club star Nico Williams on Friday have been revealed online.

And they confirm a significant boost for the Basque side when it comes to their hopes of keeping hold of the 22-year-old for the long-term.

Wide-man Nico has of course stolen the headlines across all of Spain once more late this week.

As much comes after the gifted winger, despite having a contract agreement in place with Barcelona, went on to sign a new long-term deal with the aforementioned Athletic Club.

So, how do the terms of Nico’s new contract affect his valuation on the transfer market?

As revealed by Diario Sport, with the Spanish international’s previous €58 million release clause now scrapped:

‘The new clause will rise to almost 100 million so his departure is very complicated from now on and in the future unless there is a verbal agreement for a minor transfer.’
