England U21s are into a Euros final for the first time since 2009.

The team of 14 years ago lost the final 4-0 to a Germany team including the likes of Manuel Neuer, Jérôme Boateng, Mats Hummels, Sami Khedira and Mesut Özil.

Loach never made a Premier League appearance but has been number one at Watford, Hartlepool, Barnet and Chesterfield through the years and played his sole game for England C last year.


RB: Martin Cranie

A Championship regular for the likes of Coventry, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Luton, Cranie retired in 2021.

CB: Micah Richards

The first player in this team who went on to win Premier League, Richards is the youngest player to ever captain Manchester City and won the title with the club in 2012. Of his 13 England caps, 10 came in 2007, two years before he played in the U21 Euros final.

Another Arsenal academy graduate, though he never made the breakthrough in north London, Muamba is best known for surviving a dramatic cardiac arrest during an FA Cup game against Tottenham while at Bolton. Muamba retired at the end of that season at the age of 24.

Incredibly, Noble never won a senior cap, despite making 550 first team appearances (and scoring 62 goals) for West Ham.

The most successful player here, Milner won two Premier League titles and two domestic cups at Manchester City before moving to Liverpool and winning another league title as well as the Champions League.

He is third on the list of all-time Premier League appearances, and is just 13 behind Ryan Giggs as he approaches a debut season with Brighton.

Walcott did not just win senior caps but scored eight goals for England, including a hat-trick in Croatia a year before the 2009 U21 Euros.

Scorer of 80 Premier League goals, he is currently a free agent.

Johnson played for Middlesbrough, Manchester City (where he won the Premier League and the FA Cup) and Sunderland before he was sentenced to six years in prison.
