At a time when there is a lot of talk about the poor organization and timing of the Club World Cup currently taking place in the United States, Chelsea's Italian coach Enzo Maresca has come out and seems to have indirectly criticized the organization of the tournament in this country.

The Italian coach broke his silence after their game against Benfica, which lasted more than five hours, and despite the win, the game was stopped in the 86th minute due to lightning that was very close to the pitch in the Charlotte.

What Enzo Maresca had to say about the game!

Speaking of these things, the Italian coach was perhaps not satisfied with the organization of the tournament, especially after their game that lasted more than 115 minutes.

I think it’s a joke to be honest. It’s not football. It’s not for us. You cannot be inside [the dressing room]. It’s completely something new, but I struggle to understand. I can understand that for security reasons, you are to suspend the game. But if you suspend seven, eight games, that means that probably is not the right place to do this competition.

Speaking of which, El-Meddab hinted that perhaps Huda was not the right place to organize the tournament, and his statement gave a sharp impression of the 2026 World Cup.

It’s a fantastic competition. It’s a Club World Cup. It’s top. We are happy to be in the last eight. We are happy to win all these kinds of things. But something happens, six, seven games suspended… because it’s not normal to suspend a game.
