The pop star's Mathematics Tour logo has been replaced after four consecutive seasons as the shirt's main sponsor
For the first time since the 2021/22 campaign, Ipswich Town go into a season without Ed Sheeran's Mathematics Tour as the front of shirt sponsor.
The global singer/songwriter, who owns a 1.4% share in Ipswich Town, revealed last season that he would step away from that commitment.
Now, it has been revealed that software company Halo, which has previously been the club's sleeve sponsors for the past two seasons, will become the club's front-of-shirt sponsor in a deal which represents the biggest shirt sponsorship deal in the club's history.
And Sheeran has expressed his gratitude not only towards Halo, but to the club itself for ensuring that his wishes for his successor were granted.
Per the East Anglian Daily Times, Ed Sheeran stressed that he wanted the new main shirt sponsor at Ipswich Town to be local to Suffolk, and not a betting company.
On the switch to Halo, he said, "I've known the Halo guys for a while now, obviously they have done the sleeve sponsorship.
"I was very, very clear to everyone at Ipswich that we didn't want another betting company on the shirt, but we also wanted to keep it Suffolk, keep it local.
"I'm a big fan of what Halo are doing for young people locally, and they're a massive disruptor in the tech industry. It's good to have a great Suffolk brand on it, and going from the Mathematic Tour to Halo.
"Thank you so much for taking the sponsorship."
Ed Sheeran's decision to sponsor the club he supports has taken him and Ipswich fans on a mammoth journey in just four seasons.
The club were in League One when the symbols relating to his various albums graced the front of the Tractor Boys' shirt, and the club have risen up to the promised land of the Premier League in the four years since.
Additionally, the involvement didn't stop at just a sponsorship, with the lifelong fan becoming a minority stakeholder in the club ahead of their first season back in the Premier League last term.
Sheeran may be stepping back from his duties as a front-of-shirt sponsor, but the likelihood is that the minority stakeholder will still be ever present at Ipswich games, as Kieran McKenna's side look to get back into the top flight following their recent relegation.
