It will come as no surprise to anyone associated with Manchester United that the club is hardly an environment conducive to positive working relationships.
From Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s redundancies and Alejandro Garnacho publicly kicking up a fuss on socials after the Europa League final, discord has become the name of the game at Old Trafford.
Is it any surprise that the players are kicking off at each other on the pitch?

Sadly, Ruben Amorim probably had another fire to put out after observing Casemiro and Andre Onana’s tiff on the pitch.
Normally, this is the kind of thing that the players will quickly move on from. Even champions have public disagreements on the pitch, all in the name of maintaining high standards.
However, United’s performance standards have been anything but high in the 2024/25 campaign. If we’re being perfectly honest, too, Onana has been a contributing factor in yet another season that has fallen well short of expectations.
Footage shared by @Utd_Forever7 on X (formerly Twitter) shows Casemiro gesticulating at our No.1 shotstopper.
The former Inter Milan goalkeeper had appeared to be giving his teammates a telling off after Luke Shaw put the ball out for a Tottenham corner.
Manchester United are desperate for an overhaul across the pitch this summer.
One area recruiters are almost certain to take a long, hard look at this summer is the goalkeeper’s spot. With that in mind, it’s far from surprising to see names like Diogo Costa linked with replacing Andre Onana in the upcoming window.

If reports are to be believed, the well-regarded FC Porto goalkeeper is on the club’s shortlist.
There have been some links to Bundesliga champions Bayern, but, to our knowledge, the Bavarians aren’t looking to bolster their goalkeeping department this summer.
Manchester City, of course, could prove a potential threat whilst Ederson continues to be linked with an exit from the Etihad in 2025.
Regardless of who is available this summer, we can’t afford to see United go in with a half-baked idea of who their next No.1 should be. We need an elite goalkeeper who can not only command their area but also the respect of their teammates on the pitch.
