What are the most important developments for Chiefs next season according to Willard Katsande?

Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Willard Katsande believes the club has addressed its recruitment issues ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Despite a challenging pre-season tour in the Netherlands that yielded just one win in five matches, the retired midfielder insists the experience has sharpened the squad.

Speaking to FARPost, Katsande highlighted the improved balance in Chiefs' roster: "This season will be different - they'll be more competitive, especially with African football experience in the CAF Confederation Cup." He praised management for creating a blend of youth, prime players, and experience, noting signings like Ethan Chislett (Port Vale) and Nkanyiso Shinga (FC Alverca) alongside acquisitions from domestic rivals.

The Amakhosi legend emphasized the importance of tactical preparation during their European camp, suggesting the mixed results shouldn't overshadow the progress made. As Chiefs prepare to face Asante Kotoko in the Toyota Cup on July 26th, Katsande remains confident the new-look squad will show marked improvement this season.
