Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved to lavish fresh praise on Marc Casadó, on the back of the youngster’s latest starring display.

Barcelona were of course back in action on the continent last night, when they welcomed German heavyweights Bayern Munich to Catalunya’s capital for a Champions League clash.

When all was said and done in something of a one-sided affair, the Blaugrana emerged dominant victors, by four goals to one.

Stealing the headlines post-match was wide-man Raphinha, after the Brazilian continued his stellar start to the campaign courtesy of a brilliant hat-trick.

A number of other Barca stars, though, shone bright, too, not least the aforementioned Marc Casadó.

Thrown in from the off in the middle of the park in arguably the biggest game of his career, Casadó proved himself more than able once again.

In fact, the 21-year-old shone bright in midfield, pinpoint in his passing, and relentless in his pressure and defensive work.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of his engine room standout was put to manager Hansi Flick.

And, in his response, the German tactician could not help but reveal his delight with Casadó, explaining:

”What an amazing player! It’s incredible. If you see him play now, if you know where he comes from… and the level he is at now, how much he has improved. He is incredibly good in defence, also with the ball at his feet. This is La Masia. I am very happy. Everyone sees the quality of these players. You could see it in the second-half when we combined and kept possession. It was very good.”
