Westerlo have announced the signing of Iranian winger Allahyar Sayyadmanesh from Hull City on a contract for the next two and a half years. The 22-year-old winger initially joined the Yorkshire side in the winter of 2022 on loan, making 12 appearances and scoring one goal. In the summer of 2022 he joined the side permanently, making 28 appearances and scoring two goals.
However, this season Sayyadmanesh’s appearances have been limited, with just six made in the Championship. Westerlo have improved in recent weeks, with new head coach Rik De Mil having guided the team out of the relegation zone. The side have won four games out of their last seven, with two draws and a defeat.
Sayyadmanesh started his career with Esteghlal before joining Fenerbahce in the summer of 2019. He only made three appearances for the Turkish side, with loan spells at Zorya and Istanbulspor as well as Hull. He has also made seven appearances for the Iranian national team.
