West Ham United could revive their interest in Chelsea striker Armando Broja amid plans to sign a striker this summer.

According to the Mirror, the Hammers will be ‘offered a chance’ to sign the Albanian striker with new manager Julen Lopetegui looking to revamp the squad.

The 22-year-old hasn’t set the world alight over the past two seasons.

He spent the first half of the recent campaign stuck on the fringes at Chelsea before joining Fulham in what turned out to be a disastrous loan spell.

Broja barely kicked a ball for Marco Silva’s side, falling behind Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez in the pecking order.

He has netted just three times in 45 appearances across all competitions over the past two seasons, and Chelsea will be more than happy to get him off their payroll.

This isn’t the first time West Ham have explored the possibility of signing Broja. He was on their radar during the January transfer window, but they ultimately decided not to pursue a deal.

Despite his recent struggles, Broja still has a couple of admirers in the Premier League, and West Ham may be tempted to return for his signature this summer.

Broja could be a decent cut-price addition for West Ham

Chelsea are seemingly desperate to sell Broja, so it could be a decent opportunity for West Ham to secure his signature in a cut-price deal.

He was valued at £30 million in January, but given the trajectory of his career since, the Hammers should be able to negotiate a much lower fee for the young striker.

Michail Antonio led the line admirably toward the end of the season, but the Jamaican could leave the club when his contract runs out this summer.

Considering West Ham’s summer plans have been dealt a significant blow with Lucas Paqueta facing a potential ban, Broja could be a decent bargain addition this summer.
