West Ham United take on Viborg in a Europa Conference League qualifier – here we have how to watch, team news, head-to-head, odds, prediction and everything else you need to know about the fixture.
West Ham begin their European journey this week by taking on the Danish Superliga side – Viborg FF. David Moyes‘ side will be looking to obtain their first win of the season after a very dodgy start to the Premier League campaign. They’ve played two games thus far and have lost both – falling victim to Manchester City and new boys Nottingham Forest.
The Danish side on the other hand currently sit fifth in their division, they’ve played five games so far and sit on a total of nine points – winning three games and losing two.
This is a two-legged tie so the Hammers will be looking to get off to a great start in the home leg so that they have no worries in terms of qualification for the second leg of the tie.
With this, here’s everything you need to know regarding the fixture between West Ham and Viborg in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
West Ham vs Viborg takes place on Thursday 18th August 2022 at the London Stadium. The kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm UK time.
Football fans in England will be over the moon to hear that West Ham vs Viborg will be televised live on BT Sports. Coverage will start at 7:30 PM.
If you are looking to live stream the big match, you can do so via the BT Sport app or Virgin streaming service.
You need to have an account or a monthly pass to access the live stream, so make sure you have everything you need prior to kick-off. The monthly pass costs £25.
David Moyes will be forced to make some changes for his side, however, there could be some key names that retain a place.
Said Benrahma had a fantastic game at the weekend against Forest despite the defeat, he’ll be in contention to start for some attacking threat tonight. Speaking of attacking threat, new marquee signing Gianluca Scamacca could be handed his first start for the club, while Manuel Lanzini could also obtain his first start of the campaign.
As for Viborg, they’ll be fielding a strong side after their comfortable 2-0 win against Silkeborg at the weekend allowed them to rest a couple of key names.
There are no suspensions either side needs to worry about.
The two sides have never met competitively in the past.
At the time of writing, the betting markets have West Ham as their favourites, and no doubt this is due to them being at home for this fixture.
This should be a great game with both sides desperate to get to the group stages of the competition. West Ham will be desperate to obtain quite a few home goals to take into the second leg and we think they’ll do just that – winning comfortably.
