The Hammers conspired to throw away a 3-1 lead at Newcastle and lost 4-3 last time out, while Spurs needed a late Son Heung-min winner to beat a dogged Luton Town.
Games between Tottenham and West Ham rarely fail to entertain, with the two capital teams trading regular victories. Here's how the last ten meetings have panned out.

Tottenham have so often had to pull wins out of the bag in second halves of matches this season, but the tables were turned on them by West Ham in this December meeting.
Spurs had deservedly gone ahead thanks to Cristian Romero's 11th-minute header but there was a infuriating lack of clinical edge from a home perspective, allowing the visitors to go level and then win the match thanks to fortuitous strikes from Jarrod Bowen and James Ward-Prowse.

While the mood was rarely positive at Tottenham throughout 2022/23, they were still bang in the hunt for a top-four finish ahead of this clash with West Ham.
A rather awful game didn't get much better after a chance-less first half, but the second period did at least yield two goals. Emerson Royal grabbed the opener after good play from wing-back buddy Ben Davies before Son Heung-min made sure of the win with a trademark run and finish.

Spurs had been billed as potential title contenders under Conte ahead of the 2022/23 season and the Italian was typically upset with one refereeing call that denied his side a penalty at London Stadium in this August meeting.
A decision penalising Aaron Cresswell for handball was overturned after three minutes of VAR deliberation, with Thilo Kehrer's own goal and Tomas Soucek's equaliser eventually securing a 1-1 draw for both teams.

Tottenham and West Ham were level on points heading into this March 2022 encounter, with Conte's side hopeful of chasing down Arsenal for Champions League qualification.
A defensive mix-up resulted in Kurt Zouma sticking one into his own net inside ten minutes before Son grabbed the first of his two goals. Said Benrahma did manage to pull one back in the first half, but Son settled the contest with another strike late on.

Tottenham remain without a trophy since 2008, which is where West Ham hold the edge over their London rivals having claimed the Europa Conference League in 2023.
This clash came in the 2021/22 Carabao Cup and, while neither side would go on to claim the silverware, three goals in five minutes still provided plenty of entertainment as Steven Bergwijn, Bowen and Lucas Moura all struck in a Spurs win.
