West Ham host Bournemouth in a fascinating Premier League clash in the capital on Thursday night.
The Hammers have climbed back into contention for the European places over the second quarter of the season and are on an unbeaten five-game run in the league, but the mood at the London Stadium may not be that confident as the home team have not won any of their last four games in all competitions.
In contrast Bournemouth have been rising in the rankings with eight wins in their last 11 games all told, but they have suffered losses in their last two Premier League assignments against Tottenham and Liverpool.
West Ham will be without midfielder Said Benrahma, who is serving a three-match suspension and it has also been reported that he is set to join French club Lyon on loan until the end of the season. Defender Vladimir Coufal is also suspended, while Nayef Aguerd is at the Africa Cup of Nations, but Mohammed Kudus should return after his Ghana team were eliminated.
Edson Alvarez is also back in contention after a calf injury, Jarrod Bowen returned in Sunday’s draw with Sheffield United and Kalvin Phillips could make his Hammers debut after signing on loan from Manchester City. Lucas Paqueta (calf) and Michael Antonio (knee) remain sidelined.
Bournemouth defender James Hill is out with an ankle injury, leaving the team struggling at right-back as Max Aarons and Ryan Fredericks are still out and Adam Smith may have to be rushed back into the line-up.
Tyler Adams (thigh) is also out and Dango Ouattara is not likely to feature yet as he has just returned from the Africa Cup of Nations.
