According to a report from Football.London, it was mentioned that West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca is being speculated for a return to Italy. It was also stated that there are reports claiming that Juventus could reignite their interest in the Italian forward at the end of this season.

Scamacca’s Struggling Campaign At West Ham United

Scamacca arrived with great expectations but has so far failed to live up to the hype. He has only found the back of the net on four occasions over nineteen appearances for the Hammers this season across all fronts.

The Italian forward has failed to be productive in the final third but deserves credit for averaging 1.9 shots and 0.8 key passes per game in the Premier League. However, he needs to find a way to improve his ball distribution, as he has only completed 66.9% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via whoscored).

Scamacca’s contract at the London Stadium doesn’t expire until the summer of 2027. Hence, the Hammers can ask for a decent fee if they wish to sell him this summer.

Should Moyes Sanction His Exit?

Whether or not David Moyes should sanction Gianluca Scamacca’s exit from West Ham United is a difficult question to answer. It ultimately depends on a number of factors, including the player’s desire to leave, his current form and performance, and the club’s overall goals and plans for the future. Furthermore, Scamacca has firmly displayed that he has no desire to leave the club.

“I feel good. I’m happy to be here and to play for this club. I feel the love and really appreciate it.”

Scamacca is a highly-rated young striker who is currently not in good form at West Ham. The Italian has shown flashes of his potential during his time with the Hammers this season. He has impressed with his physicality, technical ability, and work rate and has shown that he has the potential to be a top-class striker in the foreseeable future.

West Ham may see Scamacca as a long-term investment and may want to keep him at the club in order to continue his development. The club has a history of developing young players and giving them opportunities to succeed, and Scamacca may be seen as a player who fits into this mould.

Ultimately, the decision to sanction Scamacca’s exit from West Ham United should be based on careful consideration of all the factors involved. David Moyes and the club’s management will need to assess the player’s desire to leave, his current performance and his potential.
