In a recent report, The Telegraph stated that West Ham United are still showing interest in Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral this summer. It is believed that the Hammers are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Czech Republic international during this summer transfer period (via The Telegraph).

Kral’s Impressive Form In Russian Football Last Season

Kral caught the eye with his performances for Spartak Moscow last season when he managed to prove his worth for them as a valuable defensive midfielder. The Košice-born talent failed to score a goal but did well to pick up five assists in 30 matches for the Russian outfit in the previous campaign across multiple competitions.

The 23-year-old did a little bit of everything at the centre of the park as he averaged 1.5 tackles, 1.8 interceptions, 0.8 clearances, 0.7 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in the Russian Premier League. He has been even careful when distributing possession from midfield after making 81% of his attempted passes in the Russian top-flight (stats via whoscored).

Kral is still under contract at Otkrytie Bank Arena until the summer of 2024, so West Ham will have to launch a sizable offer if they want to bring him to the English capital before the transfer window slams shut at the end of next month.

Will Kral Is A Good Signing For The Hammers This Summer?

Kral can read the danger quickly and can time his challenges well to make some important interceptions in midfield. He has got the vision to pick out a decisive pass in the attacking third and can also complete a few intelligent dribbles in the opposition half.

However, the 22-time Czech Republic international needs to add a few goals to his game if he wants to be a success story at a club like West Ham. David Moyes has got the lure of first-team football to attract Kral, especially if the Hammers end up losing Declan Rice this summer.

The Spartak Moscow star will add plenty of bite and steel to Moyes’ midfield department and increase competition for places within his match-day squad. At 23, the best is yet to come from Kral, so Moyes can hope to make the most of his talents at the London Stadium if he can figure out a way to get a deal done for him ahead of the new season. With all things considered, the Czech Republic midfield ace could turn out to be a decent signing for the East London outfit as long as they can land him for a reasonable fee during this summer transfer window.
