According to Football.London, West Ham United have reportedly made an offer to Paris Saint Germain to sign Thilo Kehrer. It is understood that David Moyes is looking to fill the gap created by Issa Diop’s exit to Fulham and the German defender fits the bill. It is still to be seen if the French giants accept their offer as multiple clubs, including Sevilla, are showing keen interest.

Kehrer’s Decent Campaign For PSG Last Season

Thilo Kehrer mostly came off the bench to provide cover in the centre-half but fared well at the end of last season with a decent campaign for the French outfit. He managed to find the back of the net on two occasions appearing in 30 matches across all competitions.

The Tubingen-born talent tried to be consistent even though he had fewer minutes on the pitch after averaging 0.8 tackles, 0.9 interceptions and 1.0 clearances per game in Ligue 1. However, he has been impressive with his ball distribution as he completed 94.7% of his attempted passes in the French first division (stats via whoscored).

Thilo Kehrer Linked To West Ham United

How Does He Fit Into Moyes’ West Ham United?

Kehrer is a decent tackler of the ball as he doesn’t rush into a tackle. The 20-time German international does well to win the ball by making some clever interceptions. He excels in holding on to the ball even under pressure and can play his way out from the back comfortably. Furthermore, his ball distribution remains top-notch as he delivers some great passes down the wide areas in the attacking third.

The 25-year-old has a long way to go and has the potential to improve over the coming years. He is primarily a centre-back but can also feature in the right-back position, so his versatility could bring him up in the pecking order at London Stadium.

David Moyes has a well-stocked defensive department, but Kehrer could bring more competition to the Hammers’ defence, and he could do well to earn his playtime as the East London club competes in various competitions this campaign.
