West Ham United join hunt for in-demand Girona star | OneFootball

A new suitor have positioned themselves firmly in the race for Girona star Aleix García.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing SER, who point towards Premier League outfit West Ham United as the club in question.

The subject of midfielder García’s future has of course proven a central talking point in Spain over the course of recent weeks.

This comes after widespread reports pointed towards the 26-year-old closing on a move to Germany, with Xabi Alonso’s history-making Bayer Leverkusen.

Some outlets even went as far as to claim that an agreement between the parties was all but in place.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word to have surfaced on Tuesday is anything to go by, then a twist could yet be in the tale.

As per MD, West Ham United have now thrown their hat in the ring for García.

The Irons have a bid worth a sum in the region of €16 million at the ready, willing to dwarf the financial package on offer to the Spanish international with Leverkusen, too.

The final decision on his future, in turn, could well be left up to García himself.
