In a recent report, Jeunes Footeux stated that West Ham United are hoping to land Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka. It has been revealed that the Hammers are showing interest in recruiting the French defensive ace and could make a move worth around €15m for him during the January transfer window.

Ndicka’s Impressive Numbers In German Football

The 23-year-old has made 14 appearances for the German club this season and has been responsible for producing a run of solid displays for them on the defensive end of the pitch.

Ndicka has been a rock at the back for Frankfurt and has done really well to average 0.8 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 5.7 clearances per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. He has even been excellent when distributing the ball from the back, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 88.4% in the German first division this season (stats via whoscored).

The promising defender’s current contract at Frankfurt will run out at the end of this campaign. Hence, the Hammers will have a good chance to recruit him for a cut-price fee when the transfer commences at the start of January.

What Will Ndicka Add To West Ham United Boss David Moyes’ Team?

Ndicka is a good tacker of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team at the back. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is proficient at playing his way out from the back. Ndicka mainly operates as a centre-half but can even fill in as a left-back if his manager tells him to do so.

Standing at 1.92m, the French talent can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition in the air but only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if West Ham manage to acquire his services this winter.

We can expect Ndicka to add more quality to David Moyes‘ defence at West Ham and is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the London Stadium.

At 23, Ndicka’s best years are ahead of him which makes him a perfect choice for the Hammers to consider during the January transfer window. He could even help the East London club challenge across all competitions in the coming seasons. All in all, Moyes should focus on engineering a move to bring Ndicka to the English capital in the next calendar year.
