In a recent tweet, National World journalist Barry Anderson claimed that West Ham United have sealed a move for Austria Klagenfurt midfielder Andy Irving. It has been mentioned that the Hammers have completed the capture of the Scottish talent this summer.

Irving’s Impressive Spell In Austria

Irving enjoyed a productive spell in Austrian football last season when he put in a run of impressive displays at the heart of Klagenfurt’s midfield. The 23-year-old found the back of the net on six occasions and picked up nine assists in 34 matches for the Austrian outfit in the previous campaign across various competitions.

The Scottish midfield ace has caught the eye with his performances in Austria. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in Premier League football.

Irving has got a bright future ahead of him. Hence, West Ham have done well to recruit him permanently in the recently concluded transfer window.

Will Irving Be A Good Option For West Ham United Boss David Moyes?

Irving has a knack for scoring some important goals for his team on the attacking end of the field. He has also got the vision to play a few decisive passes in the opponent’s half.

The Scottish sensation can even make a few energetic runs with the ball from midfield. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play as a defensive midfielder or operate in the number ten position if asked to do so.

Irving would no doubt be a decent option for the Hammers in the future. At 23, there is still plenty of time for the talented midfielder to prove his worth for West Ham United at the highest level.

All in all, David Moyes has done to sign Irving permanently from Austria Klagenfurt. He would now hope that the player can impress on loan at Klagenfurt before coming back as an improved version of himself next summer. However, it remains to be seen whether the Scottish midfield ace can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football when he returns from his loan spell in Austria at the end of this campaign.
