In a recent interview on Radio Bruno (via Fiorentina News), journalist Enzo Bucchioni claimed that West Ham United have offered €35m for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. Bucchioni said,

“I have a feeling that the Amrabat situation will unblock itself soon, brother and agent are trying to bring the money and choose the team for the footballer. West Ham have offered €35m but the footballer doesn’t want to replace Rice,”

Amrabat’s Impressive Run Of Form In Italian Football

Amrabat had a solid campaign at the Florence-based club recently as he put in a string of dominant displays at the centre of the park. The Morocco international made 49 appearances for the Italian outfit last season, picking up one assist in multiple competitions.

The 26-year-old anchored the midfield relatively well based on his average of 1.3 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.6 clearances per game in the Serie A. He was even accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 89.8% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

Should West Ham United Boss David Moyes Snap Amrabat Up This Summer?

Amrabat loves a tackle in the middle of the park and can sense the danger quickly to earn possession back for his team when he is playing well on the pitch.

The Morocco international usually puts his foot through the ball to clear the danger when needed and is a tidy passer of the ball as well. However, he needs to work on improving his productivity in the final third.

Amrabat will no doubt enhance the quality of West Ham’s first team. He would even serve as an ideal replacement for Declan Rice at the East London club. At 26, his best years are ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for David Moyes this summer.

Amrabat has got the experience and skill set to be a success story at the London Stadium as long as he can make a smooth transition to life in English football. With all things considered, the Hammers would be wise to snap him up during this summer transfer window as he could help them push for a European spot in the Premier League next season.
