In a recent print edition, Corriere dello Sport (Page 2/3, 4 November) stated that West Ham United are keen on landing Napoli ace Piotr Zielinski next year. It has been claimed that the Hammers are eyeing a move to bring the Polish midfielder to the London Stadium.

Zielinski’s Impressive Form In Serie A This Season

Zielinski has enjoyed a productive campaign at the Naples club thus far as he has put in a string of fruitful displays for them in the final third. The Polish sensation has found the back of the net on three occasions and earned three assists in 14 matches for the Italian outfit this season across multiple competitions.

The 29-year-old has been a positive influence at both ends of the field based on his average of 1.4 tackles, 0.5 interceptions, 0.8 clearances, 1.4 shots, 2.8 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 86.5% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Italian club will expire at the end of this campaign. Thus, West Ham could potentially land him on a cut-price deal this January or on a free transfer next summer.

Should West Ham United Boss David Moyes Move In For Zielinski?

Zielinski is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to make some timely interceptions for his team. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.

The Polish talent has got the eye to play a few decisive passes on the offensive end of the field and is a good dribbler with the ball as well. He would be an excellent acquisition for the Hammers if David Moyes can find a way to get him on board next year.

Zielinski would add more quality and depth to West Ham‘s midfield. He might even help the East London club compete for a major trophy in the coming seasons. All in all, Moyes would be wise to move in for the Poland international when the transfer window commences at the start of January.
