‘Informal talks’ have been held regarding the possibility of the club signing the England international this month.

The Hammers are in the market for a new forward due to the injuries to Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug.

They have struggled for goals this season, netting 24 goals in 20 league games.

West Ham are 14th in the Premier League, seven points above the relegation zone. They must sign a forward this month to finish the season strongly under new manager Graham Potter.

Rashford may not favour a move to London Stadium, particularly with AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus interested in him.

His huge wages could also prevent the deal from happening. It is unclear how much of West Ham want to cover, which could determine if United will accept their offer.

A move for Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi or Marseille’s Elye Wahi could be more realistic for the Hammers.

Rashford needs to leave Man United in this transfer window as manager Ruben Amorim does not have him in his plans. He has been left out of the squad for six of the last seven games.

Man United are looking at the market for his replacement, with Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani among the players they are monitoring.

Rashford is also keen on leaving Old Trafford ‘for a new challenge’. He has rejected a move to the Saudi Pro-League (SPL) but needs to find his next destination soon.
