The East London outfit made an excellent start to their league season as they secured two dominant wins versus Newcastle United and Leicester City. However, they suffered their first league defeat against Manchester United back in September.

The Hammers managed to go strong in Europe as well by securing qualification into the knockout phases of the UEFA Europa League. David Moyes’ men suffered a few poor defeats during the winter months and got knocked out of the League Cup by Tottenham Hotspur. However, they ended the year in style by picking up a 4-1 win over Watford.

West Ham had a solid second half of the season as they continued to impress in the Premier League. Their excellent Europa League run finally came to an end in the semifinal stage of the competition as they were beaten by Eintracht Frankfurt over two legs. The Hammers were also knocked out of the FA Cup after a 3-1 loss away at Southampton back in March.
