West Ham United were not interested in signing new Crystal Palace star Odsonne Edouard during the summer transfer window, according to journalist Paul Brown.
Edouard had made it clear for some time that he was looking for a new challenge away from Celtic, with the striker even changing agents at the turn of the year in a bid to force through a switch.
However, the 23-year-old was forced to wait until deadline day before sealing a move, with Crystal Palace forking out an initial fee of £14million - which could rise to £18.5million - for his services.

West Ham were busy in the transfer market, with Alphonse Areola and Alex Kral joining on loan deals which have a view to a permanent switch.
Craig Dawson also made his loan move from Watford permanent but, despite having just one senior striker in the form of Michail Antonio on their books, Moyes opted against rivalling Palace for Edouard.
Brown has confirmed that West Ham were not in the running to secure the services of Edouard during the summer transfer window.
However, he feels as though the Frenchman should have been on the Hammers' radar.

He also made the perfect start to his Palace career, scoring twice despite only being on the pitch for six minutes as his new employers recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
It is not just at club level where Edouard has shone as he is also the France under-21s' all-time record goalscorer after finding the back of the net 17 times.
sent off at Southampton, Moyes may be wishing he now had Edouard to call on.
