Lingard has just one year remaining on his current contract at Manchester United and unless he is offered fresh terms, it is expected that the club will allow him to leave.
West Ham were believed to have been priced out of a move earlier this year, but having qualified for next seasons Europa League, an extra cash influx will allow David Moyes’ side to flew their muscles in this summers transfer window.
According to The Sun, West Ham will now step up their pursuit of Lingard, having originally planned for talks to be held after the Euros.
The report claims that Moyes is hopeful that a deal can be concluded, with one club source claiming that a deal might be done in the next month. Ole Gunnar Solskjær is expected to hold talks with Lingard before the start of pre-season preparations.
