West Ham star joins Lyon months after Conference League success

West Ham winger Saïd Benrahma has joined Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais on a loan-to-buy deal.

The 28-year-old departs the East London side on a temporary basis with the obligation to become permanent for £15 million, just seven months after winning the Europa Conference League final.

The Algerian has found form hard to come by this season which had seen him fall down the pecking order, with Lucas Paquetá instead favoured on the left-hand side.

Lyon are struggling tremendously in Ligue 1 this season and are sat in 16th, in the relegation play off spot.

Pierre Sage will be hoping his new addition can rediscover his magical form which convinced the Hammers to pay Brentford £25 million for his services.
