David Martin, the son of West Ham legend Alvin, has joined West Ham on a two-year deal from rivals Millwall.
Having already signed one goalkeeper this summer in Roberto to replace the departed Adrián, the Hammers have added further back-up in that area.
The 33-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year contract from 1 July, with the option of extending his stay for a further 12 months.
He is the son of Hammers hero Alvin Martin, who made almost 500 appearances for the club across two decades.
“Signing for West Ham is a dream, both for me and my family,” the goalkeeper told West Ham’s official website.
“I’ve grown up around West Ham and to come to my boyhood club is a dream.
“I came to games as a kid with the fans in the stands at the Bolelyn Ground and loved watching my dad play.
“Throughout my career, I have continued coming to games.”
He has spent the last two years of his career at rivals Millwall, where he made a total of 15 appearances.
Martin will provide back-up and competition for both Łukasz Fabiański and Roberto.
