West Ham United manager David Moyes is going to be judged on the Hammers’ first three games after the World Cup, claims journalist Dean Jones.

The east London club are not having the best of seasons and will now be hoping that the transfer window can give them a boost in January, but Jones says Moyes will have to convince potential new signings that he is not close to the sack.

West Ham manager news – David Moyes

While West Ham are currently 16th in the Premier League, David Gold and David Sullivan do not seem ready to get rid of Moyes just yet.

In fact, last month, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth told GIVEMESPORT that the 59-year-old still has the full support of the club’s owners.

And it is not hard to see why they are continuing to stick with him despite West Ham’s poor form this season.

After all, it was only the last campaign and the one before where Moyes managed to guide the Hammers to seven and sixth-placed finishes, which is extremely impressive.

What has Dean Jones said about David Moyes’ West Ham future?

It does not look like Moyes will be given forever to turn things around, though.

Speaking to GMS about his future at the London Stadium, Jones said: “First and foremost, David Moyes has got a job to convince everybody that he’s going to keep his job. The first three games back, he’s being judged on, and they want to see a certain number of points gained over those games.

“If he doesn’t get it, we don’t know that he’s going to be in a job for too much longer, and that’s going to impact their plans. So it’s one to keep your eye on.”

Which other teams has David Moyes coached?

Moyes is a very experienced manager at Premier League level, having had spells at the likes of Manchester United and Everton.

The Scotsman’s time at Goodison Park was successful. As per Transfermarkt, he took charge of 513 games for the Toffees, winning 221 of them.

He was obviously not as successful at United, though, failing to finish his first and only campaign at Old Trafford.

Also per Transfermarkt, Moyes managed 51 games for the Red Devils and oversaw just 26 victories while at the helm.

As well as United and Everton, Moyes has had stints at Sunderland, Real Sociedad and Preston North End, too. If West Ham do decide to make a change, it probably will not be too hard for him to find another job.
