Reports in Italy claim that Premier League side West Ham have made an enquiry with Roma regarding the availability of Lorenzo Pellegrini, who has recently been removed as the club’s first-choice captain.
The Italy international is into the final year of his contract at the Stadio Olimpico, and recent reports indicate that he has hit a wall in negotiations over an extension, and now he appears likely to leave within the next year.
The 29-year-old, who had been serving as Giallorossi captain, will no longer have that honour guaranteed, as head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has confirmed that the captaincy will now be given to whichever player has made the most appearances for Roma, which puts Stephan El Shaarawy and Bryan Cristante above Pellegrini in the pecking order.

With his future up in the air, reports from Sky (via Calciomercato.com), claim that West Ham have made an enquiry for Pellegrini.
Tuesday’s report suggests that two other Premier League sides in Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth are also potentially interested in a deal for the 29-year-old.
Roma meanwhile, could turn to Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis if they do end up sanctioning a Pellegrini sale this summer.
