Antonio double keeps West Ham’s top four dream alive

Scorers: Wood (P) 19′; Antonio 21′, 29′

West Ham are still in with a shout for Champions League football after they came from behind to beat Burnley at Turf Moor.

Burnley took the lead from the penalty spot after 19 minutes, when Chris Wood fired past Łukasz Fabiański after he had been brought down in the box by Tomáš Souček.

But they were ahead for just a couple of minutes, with Michail Antonio heading home the equaliser for West Ham at the other end.

And the Hammers then took the lead, when Saïd Benrahma’s whipped cross was touched in by Antonio at the back post.

Jesse Lingard had a chance to wrap up the three points late on, but his effort was saved by Nick Pope.

It didn’t matter though, as the Hammers hung on for a win which leaves fifth in the table, three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Wolves hammer another nail into West Brom’s coffin at rain-soaked Hawthorns

Scorers: Diagne 62′; Fábio Silva 45+2′

West Brom are 10 points from safety with four games to go after they were held at home by rivals Wolves.

Baggies goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was forced into two decent stops in the first half, before Mbaye Diagne had an effort cleared off the line by Romain Saïss at the other end.

Wolves then took the lead in first half stoppage time, when Fábio Silva’s effort deflected off Kyle Bartley and looped over Johnstone on its way in.

West Brom had a great chance early in the second half, when Matt Phillips picked out Conor Gallagher in the box, but Rui Patrício made a good save.

But the hosts did soon equalise, and it was Diagne who got it with a bullet header for his third goal since moving to the Hawthorns in January.

A heavy downpour effectively spoiled the game as a contest, however, and 1-1 was how it finished.
