West Ham United have had an opening bid rejected for the Montpellier striker Gaëtan Laborde.
The Hammers want to sign a replacement for Sebastien Haller, who joined Ajax this month.
Montpellier rejected West Ham's loan offer for Laborde, which included with an obligation to buy in the summer, per The Guardian.
The Ligue 1 club wants at least £16m for the 26-year-old, the scorer of six league goals this season.
West Ham have switched their focus to Laborde after missing out on Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri.
