Former West Ham hero Martin Allen has urged the Hammers to make a move for Aaron Ramsdale. With first Newcastle United and now West Ham interested, Southampton might make a huge profit on Ramsdale.
Southampton's current standing in the Premier League speaks for itself for the season they have had. Except for a very few names, most of the players have disappointed in their roles so far this campaign.
And with even some of them picking injuries like Aaron Ramsdale, it ain't looking any easier for Southampton ahead.
Despite being one of the newest additions, Ramsdale has been fully committed for the Saints. To the extent that he believed he let down boss Russell Martin after picking an injury.
And at this point, it feels that Southampton don't deserve Ramsdale. But luckily for Ramsdale, he might have an escape route in January.
Not much ago, Newcastle had shown interest in signing him and recent reports indicate the same for West Ham.
As per West Ham zone, former club hero Martin Allen believes the Hammers should make a move for Aaron Ramsdale. Speaking about the player, Martin said: "I would be looking at Ramsdale for a keeper to come in – he would be my first signing."
While Ramsdale leaving isn't great for Southampton, the growing interest in him could be an advantage. The former Arsenal number 1 could give the Saints an excellent opportunity to make a huge profit the way they did with Romeo Lavia in 2023.
But to make it happen, clearly, Southampton needs to make several things fall in place together. A potential move for Ramsdale mid season would see them left with an out of favor Alex McCarthy and Joe Lumley, with a young option in Gavin Bazunu.
