West Ham boss David Moyes was left frustrated with their 2-1 defeat at Arsenal.

The Hammers were made to pay for missing chances early on when the Gunners took the lead a quarter of the way into the game through Alexandre Lacazette's bullet header, only to haul themselves level on the stroke of half-time, Michail Antonio finishing off a sweeping move from close range.

West Ham continued to press and twice came within inches of taking the lead through Antonio in the second half, but despite having twice as many shots than their opponents at Emirates Stadium, it was Arsenal substitute Eddie Nketiah who tapped in a late winning goal.

"It's tough [to take] because the players played really well tonight," Moyes said.

"They put in a great deal of effort, and not to be rewarded with some points tonight is really hard on us.

"It looked like we were going to go on and win it, but we didn't. We switched off when we shouldn't have. We had good opportunities to score, but we didn't take them."

He added: "We want to get better and we're not going to accept losing. We're not going to accept turning off in the last few minutes - the boys had done an unbelievable job to get us in the position we were, so to turn off in the last three to four minutes was criminal."
