All the latest news coming out of West Bromwich Albion.
West Bromwich Albion kick off their season on Saturday when they host Blackburn Rovers, which will be Ryan Mason's first competitive fixture in charge of the Midlands-based club.
The former Tottenham Hotspur interim manager took the helm at The Hawthorns over the summer, succeeding Tony Mowbray, whose return to the club was far less successful than everyone had hoped.
The Baggies haven't been hugely busy in the transfer market thus far, with just three arrivals in Aune Heggebo, Nat Phillips and George Campbell adding some exciting quality to the side.
It's certainly the beginning of a big rebuilding job for Mason, as West Brom transition into a new era with a fresh squad, and look to finally push towards a Premier League return after years of disappointment.
With the start of Albion's season less than a week away, Football League World complied all the latest news surrounding West Brom.
One of the most frustrating stories at The Hawthorns in recent years has been the constant injury struggles of striker Daryl Dike, who's made just 43 appearances in three-and-a-half years at the club.
The United States international has suffered a string of injuries since arriving at West Brom from Orlando City in January 2022, which has seen him sidelined for the majority of his time in the Midlands, and he only returned from a year-long absence in February.
However, according to reports from The Daily Mail, Dike is now set to miss the start of Albion's season after suffering a thigh injury during training, which is the latest in a string of setbacks for the striker.
The 25-year-old is now said to be unavailable until at least the international break in early September, where he will resume training.
One man set to depart B71 this summer is Devante Cole, who played just 14 times for the Baggies last term in the Championship, scoring no goals and also notching no assists.
After the arrival of Heggebo this summer, the 30-year-old is seemingly surplus to requirements at West Brom, and has been linked with a switch to both Reading and Port Vale in League One.
However, it seems the latter aren't in for Cole this summer, after former Baggies boss Darren Moore revealed in a recent interview that there's no substance to the rumours.
The Vale boss told BBC Radio Stoke Sport: Listen, I can’t stop all the speculation. Great to be linked with such a wonderful player. Is there anything in it? No. It’s nice to be linked with such a wonderful player, but at this moment in time, that’s all it is."
As for incoming players, Mason has two targets on his radar, with free-agent goalkeeper Angus Gunn and Cadiz striker Chris Ramos both reportedly on the shopping list of the Black Country club.
Gunn has reportedly been on trial at The Hawthorns, and could be signed after Josh Griffiths put in another unconvincing performance in a pre-season victory over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
After Dike's injury setback, West Brom have tabled a bid reportedly worth around £2.1m for Ramos, but it's unclear whether the bid has been accepted yet. The Spanish forward scored 10 goals in LaLiga 2 last season.
