Wesley Fofana reveals 10-hour Chelsea medical in New York with Lakers doctor | OneFootball

Speaking to L’Équipe new Chelsea signing Wesley Fofana (21) gave an exclusive insight into his medical with the London club, which saw him make an express visit to New York City.

The young Frenchman said, “I thought I was going to do it in London and then I found out that it would be carried out in New York City! It was an express visit, but I spent a long time at the clinic. It was the [Los Angeles] Lakers doctor who supervised all the tests, he looked at everything.”

The €85m man continued, “They examined my ankle; everything was analysed, even parts of the body that I can’t talk about (laughs) in order to see how I had recovered from my injury. It lasted over 10 hours! It’s normal given the amount of money spent on me. Todd [Boehly] and Bedhad [Eghbali] (the Chelsea owners) were great. They welcomed me in London and in New York like a member of their own family. I had never been to New York, but from what I saw from the taxi, I’ll go back.”
