Oliver Glasner describes the shorter training week, reports on an “encouraging personnel situation” and shows respect to opponents Arminia Bielefeld.

Oliver Glasner on... …the personnel situation: “Kevin Trapp was back in team training today. Filip Kostic tested negative, trained on his own today and will take part in team training tomorrow. We’ll decide then whether he’s fit enough for Bielefeld. Danny da Costa is fine again. Christopher Lenz and Jens Petter Hauge were back on the pitch but won’t be available until after the Bielefeld game. Martin Hinteregger has a problem in the pelvic area, we’ll decide on him on Friday. The personnel situation is encouraging and we’re hoping it stays that way.” …preparations for Friday: “We’ve highlighted in our detailed analysis what we did well and what we need to do better. Today’s session was short but snappy. We feel we’re well prepared.”

…opponents Bielefeld: “Bielefeld work very hard and have robust attacking players. They have a clear structure – we expect them to play in a 4-4-2 diamond, or at least with two strikers. It’s quite clear that we want to win.” …chance conversion: “We’ve had phases in which we’ve been efficient and phases in which we’ve been less efficient. We can create chances, which is the prerequisite to scoring goals. I spoke briefly with Jesper Lindström on Monday and told him he shouldn’t let it get to him. He makes brilliant runs and does great things. It’s all good – the chances he’s missed recently aren’t throwing him off course. You also have to acknowledge the goalkeeper’s performance sometimes.”

…Kristijan Jakic: “He’s currently getting back into form. He didn’t train for three weeks in total because of his coronavirus illness. He played against Dortmund after two sessions. He was still lacking a bit of rhythm, but the week has done him good. Yesterday he trained individually with some of the other players who have missed a bit more. He’ll soon be back to his old self.”
