4’: Early goal for Udinese. The Italians threaten down the left wing through Zemura. Eventually Pafundi receives the ball on the edge of the box, takes a touch and fires home with his left foot.
21’: Off the woodwork! The visitors attack again down the right channel. Modesto finds goalscorer Pafundi on the edge of the box, whose shot hits the underside of the crossbar.
42’: Camara takes the ball through Schmetgens’ legs and finds an unmarked Pizarro on the edge of the six-yard-box. The forward receives the ball but the shot is smothered by Kolke.
Summary: In a largely even game, Udinese had the better chances and earnt themselves a half-time lead. After switching sides, the Italians defended very compactly for the rest of the game, and as a result, Werder rarely had the space to attempt to draw level.
