Holding a slim 1-0 lead on aggregate, Lyon looked to get off to a quicker start than they did in Paris and young American Catarina MacĂĄrio had them in front just four minutes in.

PSG, however, were not going to give up the tie that easily. Minutes after conceding, they lunged forward in attack and Grace Geyoro scored the equaliser after 25 minutes.

In the second half, PSG continued to put pressure on Lyon, who have won the Champions League the last five years in a row, and eventually, they cracked.

An own goal from Lyon captain Wendie Renard at the hour mark handed PSG a crucial 2-1 away win and knocked the titleholders out of the competition.

With the result, PSG will now meet Barcelona in the semi-finals.
