A number of Hull City supporters have been reacting to the latest report from Hull Live that the Tigers have now entered into talks with Derby County forward Jack Marriott.

Marriott is a player that is set to leave Derby County this summer and it is believed that Wayne Rooney has informed the 26-year-old that he will not be a long-term part of his plans.

That comes after the Rams hopes of extending Marriott’s contract with the club were curtailed due to the transfer embargo situation that is surrounding their transfer business at the moment.

According to Hull Live, Grant McCann is now keen to take advantage of Marriott’s situation at Derby by making a move to sign him. That would see him link back up with the forward after they enjoyed a good spell together when he was in charge at Peterborough United.

The 26-year-old would arrive at Hull with a major point to prove after he has endured a couple of frustrating seasons. Last term, he was sent out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday but he failed to find the net in 12 league appearances for the Owls as they were relegated.
