‘We’ll see’ – Bologna star responds to Real Madrid links | OneFootball

Bologna star Sam Beukema has on Tuesday responded to surprise recent speculation, linking him with a move to Spain with Real Madrid.

Beukema, for his part, has spent the early weeks of the new season solidifying his status as one of Serie A’s standout defenders.

After impressing across his debut season in Bologna colours in 2023/24, the 26-year-old has taken his game to a completely new level this time round.

And such efforts on the part of the centre-half have not gone at all unnoticed across the continent.

The aforementioned Real Madrid, for one, have been credited with an interest in Beukema, amid an ongoing search for defensive reinforcements with a view to next season.

Speaking to the media ahead of Bologna’s Champions League showdown with Benfica on Wednesday night, the subject of such speculation was in turn put to the Dutchman himself.

And Beukema went on to admit that he has been left flattered by links with one of the game’s leading clubs:

“You can’t help but smile when you read something like that, but we’ll see at the end of the season. Now I just want to do the best possible with Bologna.”
