Speaking to Italian TV channel Mediaset (h/t Daily Mail), Paul Pogba has revealed that he is in regular contact with his Juventus teammates and does not wish to comment on his contract situation at Manchester United.
The 28-year-old’s future is up in the air, and speculation has been rife ever since he entered the final 12 months of his current deal at Old Trafford. There has been a lot of uncertainty over whether he will sign a new deal despite the fact that United are apparently trying to make him one of the highest earners in the Premier League.
The midfielder signed for the Red Devils back in 2016 from Juventus on a club-record deal worth £94million. Mino Raiola revealed last month that the Turin outfit is still in the player’s heart while Pogba has also revealed recently that he is in regular contact with his former club’s teammates.
The Frenchman told Italian TV channel Mediaset (h/t Daily Mail):
‘I always speak to my former Juventus teammates, like Paulo (Dybala). I’m in Manchester, I’ve still got a contract there for a year, and then we’ll see. I want to finish well there in Manchester, then we’ll see what happens.’
Thus, there is still a lot of uncertainty over whether the midfielder will actually sign a new deal at the club. Apart from Juventus, the 28-year-old has also been linked with French giants Paris Saint-Germain and European heavyweights Real Madrid.
If an agreement cannot be reached by the end of this year, the French international could talk to foreign clubs about a potential move next summer.
For now, however, Pogba’ focus will be on France’s final against Spain in the UEFA Nations League final after Les Bleus beat Belgium 3-2 in the semi-final.
