League-leading Arsenal head across north London

What a north London derby we have in store on Sunday as Premier League pacesetters make the short trip to N17 to take on Tottenham.

On their last trip here, they were soundly thrashed and surrendered Champions League football in the process but both sides have took very different trajectories since then.

Spurs have failed to kick on under Antonio Conte, while Arsenal are real contenders to claim a first Premier League title in two decades but do have home comforts to call upon – something which is more significant in this fixture than most.

Tottenham’s horrific away record is well documented but they’re also unbeaten in their last eight league home derbies (W6, D2) and could win four straight home games against the Gunners for the first time ever.

So it should seem predictable right? But it would be a brave person to bet against this Arsenal side making new history.

So we’re going simpler with Harry Kane at 2.38 to score anytime or 5.0 to net first. He’s this fixture’s top scorer with 14 and has scored in all but one of his eight home games against Arsenal.

In addition, Spurs have won 13 Premier League penalties in the derby and scored 12, with Kane netting seven of those. If a spot-kick is awarded, there’s only one man they’re looking to.

A mammoth Manchester derby

With a five-point gap to make up at the top of the Premier League table, Manchester City’s need for maximum points each week remains vital.

But they face one of their toughest obstacles in that objective on Saturday as they head to Old Trafford for a derby showdown with Manchester United.

City may have won the reverse fixture 6-3 in October but that was an off day that has become increasingly rare lately for United, who have picked up more Premier League points than any other side since beating Liverpool on August 22.

They are also the only team to have taken down league leaders Arsenal this season but the Cityzens do have the edge when it comes to this fixture.

They have scored 12 goals in the last three derbies (as many as they managed in the previous 12) and are looking to do the league double over United for the sixth time in the Premier League.

We’re looking at an exciting, expansive contest for this one and are going with both teams to score at 1.62.

But, for an additional interest, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat-tricks in the reverse fixture. No City player has scored in both league derbies Since Sergio Agüero in 2014/15 and nobody has ever enjoyed multi-goal games in the same season – but Haaland is priced at 5.0 to score two or more goals.

As if all of that drama from the Premier League wasn’t enough, Spain’s top two are putting on a show of their own on Sunday.

Saudi Arabia plays host again as Barcelona take on Real Madrid in the final of the Supercopa de España.

Both overcame tough tests in midweek, each requiring penalty kicks to set up a Clásico showdown with the first piece of silverware of 2023 up for grabs.

Real Madrid won the most recent meeting between the sides at the Santiago Bernabéu earlier this season, although Barça’s stunning 4-0 triumph in the capital last year still lingers in the memory.

Los Blancos are the current holders and can move level with the Catalan club on 13 titles as the joint most successful club in competition history.

So how will this one play out? Well, both teams to find the net at 1.62 is up for grabs and given the recent fixtures, we’re also having a sneaker punt on a penalty shootout again being required to separate them and that is 6.0.
