Can hosts England stop Popp?

It does not get much bigger than England playing Germany at Wembley in a major final. Incredibly, both teams head into Sunday’s game having won all of their matches up to this point, even if England did need extra-time in their quarter-final against Spain.

A capacity crowd will be massively behind the hosts, who arrive at the final having scored an astounding 20 goals in just five matches. Germany have been no strangers to finding the back of the net either, scoring 13 times and you can get over 2.5 goals at 2.15.

And there’s an individual battle going on, too. German captain Alexandra Popp has netted in every single match and sits on six goals, level with England’s Beth Mead for the top scorer in the tournament.

An England win in front of a home crowd is priced at a generous 2.5 but, if you don’t think football is coming home, you can get 41.00 on Germany to win with Popp to score anytime.

The best two sides in England face off in unusual surroundings on Saturday as the Community Shield prepares the world for another season of Premier League drama.

Due to Wembley being in use for the aforementioned fixture, Leicester’s King Power Stadium is the venue as league champions Manchester City take on FA Cup holders Liverpool.

And if recent meetings between these sides are anything to go by, what an occasion awaits in the Midlands.

In all three of their showdowns last season, both sides scored twice and in each league game, there were no further goals as they shared the spoils in thrillers home and away before the Reds finally toppled Pep Guardiola’s men 3-2 in the capital in an FA Cup semi-final classic.

Goals are just something that come naturally in this fixture and with Alisson likely missing for Liverpool this time out and some star new strikers on show for both, it is unlikely to change this weekend.

There have been over 2.5 goals when these sides meet on 11 of the last 14 occasions and it is priced at 1.80, while both teams to score (which has happened in eight of the last nine and four in succession) is available at 1.67.

Bayern aim for first post-Lewandowski trophy

It will be a curious sight not to see Robert Lewandowski leading the line when Bayern Munich line up to take on RB Leipzig in the DFL-Supercup on Saturday night.

That game occurs at the Red Bull Arena, where last season’s DFB Pokal winners welcome Bayern, out for an 11th straight Bundesliga title this year, to town to fight for early silverware.

Although it is a fixture that sees Julian Nagelsmann return to his former club, the eyes of many will be focused on how his new attacking unit cope without Lewandowski and his constant supply of goals for the best part of a decade.

Sadio Mané offers an exciting new dimension to the attack and will be eager to step out of the Pole’s shadow immediately with a strong smart to life in Bavaria, he’s 6.00 to open the scoring on his competitive Bayern debut.

Leipzig’s build-up this week hasn’t been ideal either, having lost versatile key defender Nordi Mukiele to PSG.

Bayern are 1.45 to continue their domestic dominance and win in 90 minutes, with Leipzig at 3.8 to cause an upset to kickstart the campaign.
